The Astra-Gnome: the “Time and Space Car”. This concept car was commissioned by American Motors (AMC) and designed by Richard Arbib. It’s one of those vehicles that Frank R. Paul or Wally Wood could make look great on the cover of a pulp or a comic book, but that just doesn’t translate well to the real world. Developed in the 1950s, this is what a vehicle of the year 2000 was expected to look like.
